Camille Laddawan / ลัดดาวัลย์
Artist, b. 1990
Wurundjeri Country, Australia

Camille Laddawan is an artist whose practice centres on beading to explore the English language and Western music notation as symbolic systems that both produce and exceed meaning, and where each may fail to fully hold experience.

Her work incorporates fragments of text and musical notation as visual code. Through these forms, her practice considers how meaning is produced, translated, withheld and inherited across subjective, cultural and social contexts, and how something of experience resists full translation.
